We featured the sofa some time back, but now you can pick up up the single seat version once more - the Cassina 675 Maralunga armchair.
Designed by Vico Magistretti back in 1973, the 675 Maralunga is a low-set armchair with one particularly novel feature - the headrest moves from a low to high position, depending on whether you're kicking back or sitting up straight.
Aside from that, the armchair has polyurethane foam and polyester padding, a number of coloured finishes (fabric or leather) and the option of an ottoman stool. If you want one, the 675 Maralunga is priced from around £1,700. See another image over the page.

Hans-Agne Jakobsson (1919 - 2009)
Swedish interior decorator and furniture designer Hans-Agne Jakobsson was born in Hvadhem/Gotland in 1919. After finishing an apprenticeship as a carpenter, he studied architecture in Gothenburg and began his career as industrial designer at General Motors. Subsequently he became an assistant to the prominent furniture designers Carl Malmsten and Werner West. In 1951 he founded his own company, Hans-Agne Jakobsson AB, at Markaryd. There he not only created lighting design but also candlesticks, pieces of furniture and other implements.
Influenced by the nature of his native country, the southern part of Sweden, with its glittering lakes and vast dark woods, Jakobsson occupied himself in imaginative ways with light and illumination, the soft features of the light spectrum. As a talented designer who experimented with brass, iron, glass, fabric and wood shavings, he learned how to master direction and colour of light like only few people did. In choosing his materials, construction and design, he arranged it so that glaring bulbs and irritating decorations disappear. His designs unite practicality and a sense of wellbeing. Like his famous colleague, Poul Henningsen, Jakobsson counts among the light designers who became known for their attenuated, soft lighting. His designs for wood shavings were produced by Ellysett AB.
Jakobsson is well known in his Swedish home country, his lights do not only illuminate private homes but can be found preferably in public buildings. In contrast to the designs of his famous colleagues Poul Henningsen and Paavo Tynell, the designs of Hans-Agne Jakobsson are internationally less known and less coveted, the quality of his designs is still underappreciated.

Cornelis Zitman's stools (2) in Freak Hansen
Cornelis Zitman
Hijo de una familia de constructores de Leiden, ingresa en la Academia de Bellas Artes de La Haya a los 15 años. Al finalizar sus estudios, en 1947, rehúsa hacer el servicio militar por estar en desacuerdo con las acciones políticas holandesas en Indonesia y abandona el país a bordo de un petrolero sueco que lo llevará a Venezuela. Se instala en la ciudad de Coro, donde encuentra empleo como dibujante técnico en una empresa constructora. En su tiempo libre pinta y hace sus primeras incursiones en el campo de la escultura. Dos años después se traslada a Caracas, donde trabaja como diseñador de muebles para una fábrica de la que más tarde será director.
En 1951 recibe el Premio Nacional de Escultura. Comienza a dar clases de diseño en la Universidad Central de Venezuela, continua dibujando y pintando. En 1958 expone un conjunto de pinturas y dibujos en la Galería de Arte Contemporáneo de Caracas. Decide abandonar la vida de empresario y se muda a la isla de Grenada, donde se dedica por completo a la pintura y comienza a afirmar su carácter de escultor. En 1961 viaja a Boston, Estados Unidos, para participar en una exposición de pintura y diseño. Ese mismo año regresa a Holanda con el deseo de estudiar las técnicas de fundición. En 1964 trabaja como aprendiz en la fundición del escultor Pieter Starreveld y regresa definitivamente a Venezuela contratado por la Universidad Central como profesor de diseño. Al año siguiente comienza a trabajar de manera más intensiva en la escultura de pequeño formato modelada directamente en cera. En 1971 expone por primera vez en la Galerie Dina Vierny de París y, a partir de entonces, se dedica exclusivamente a la escultura. En los años siguientes lleva a cabo varias muestras individuales en Venezuela, Francia, Suiza, Holanda, Estados Unidos, Japón, etc. y obtiene varios premios nacionales e internacionales.
