Scandinavian design makes use of pressed wood, plastic, enamelled or anodized aluminum or pressed steel.
This week the Scandinavian design fills the TOTAL LOOK.

These tiles are not made of mud or adobe, or cooked, as in the case of ceramic tiles. As its name suggests, these floors are made of compressed cement hydraulic presses. This is gives great strength and solidity. "

A mid-nineteenth century, takes place in Barcelona hydraulic tile industry, that coincide with the Modernism in Catalonia, led Barcelona for a long time occupied a leading position worldwide in the production of hydraulic tiles, as marking the trend in its design.
I leave with some wonderful floor to delight on Monday.
Happy week everyone!

“Enjoy them: the beauty of the planks themselves –so astonishingly wide and long, you will look in vain for partitions or joints where none can be found; the fragrance of the wood as you enter the room; the distinct, deep resonance of your footsteps on the solid planks; and the soft sensation of the grains of wood as you gently touch the surface. A unique experience.

SSALONES PURO ECLECTICISMO/LIVING ROOM :PURE ECLECTIC

I LOVE eclecticismo... and you?

eclecticism: architecture that developed in Europe and North America during the second half of the nineteenth century, characterized in that select elements from different styles to develop various decorative architectural designs.

Baroque mirrors, chairs from the 50s, Moroccan poufs, industrial furniture, lamps today, everything in its proper place, without using very loud colors on the pieces, looking for that neutrality for the final appearance of the room, is getting mixed success harmony.

We can arrange a "strong" in form or color, a touch, like the red chair in the first picture, if we break a little the neutral range, or seem a little boring.

takes a look inside Alvar Aalto's design office, a nice follow up to the earlier feature on his home.

"Like his home, the Atelier facade is nearly windowless and quite plain. The majority of windows are on the rear and sides of the building where they can take full advantage of the limited (in winter) Finnish sunlight.

Upon entrance, the building is home to the office of the Alvar Aalto Foundation, the Alvar Aalto Academy and the Alvar Aalto Museum Architectural Heritage. The foundation maintains both the home at Riihitie 20 and this studio building. The majority of the space that is open for touring is the second floor office and meeting space.

The office include a large group drafting room, a small private conference room and a large studio space that was the private office Alvar Aalto."
